Teaching myself anything is a chore.  With art my imagination tries to take over and thinks way faster than my hand and when I physically can’t keep up I get bothered and upset at the result.  One thing I’ve been trying to do is more research.  I’ve been looking at other people’s work, slowing myself down and pulling out ideas and technique to help me learn something and perfect the piece I’m working on.

Here is a beginning sketch I’m working on rendering out a lot more for a buddy at work.  It’s his families crest.
